Keeping The Fighting Spirit | Don't Give Up

Many of us want so many things, we all want to be successful but a lot of us lack what I call the fighting spirit. It's that zeal that keeps you going even when you seem to have not manifest the future you want for yourself. For you as a to be Super Star It's good you have this spirit, the Don't Give Up Spirit.

Below I am going to show several ways of having and keeping this Spirit with you, after reading this you will thank me later.
  1. Believe in GOD: Yes, God. A lot us think being spiritual is not important but it's actually what takes mere men from nothing to something. I personally I am a christian and a proud one at that. Weather you believe it or not there is a supreme being that controls the universe. Pray to God and believe he has blessed you already.
  2. Self Love: Yes, as a marketing/business guy I have come to a conclusion that the way owners treat their stuffs reflects on how 99.9% of people are likely to treat it. So you want people to respect you, first of all respect yourself. A lot of people would tell you if you respect others you get respect in turn that's a lie, respect your self first!
  3. Keep Good Company: I watch the people I spend time with, try to stay away from people that belittle your ambitions, trust me when you do so you will know why. Keep people that keep you motivated around you, and also try to connect with special people in your industry via industry events or even the internet LinkedIn is one place to really get this done. Even if you can't connect with this special people read about them.
  4. Keep Learning: Yes, one thing that makes people frustrated and tired of what they do is the term Stagnation, that is you neither going forward or backward and the best way to avoid this is continuously learning new things, especially things that are related to your field. I personally don't joke with is one, I am addicted to learning new stuffs. Even now we are more lucky than any other generation before us when it comes to learning new stuffs because we are in this Information Age, there are a lot of free materials for your consumption on the internet, so take advantage of it.
  5. Define Who You Are: Allowing people to define you can kill your potentials my friend. Take for instance you went for an audition and you were told you can't sing or act, even some can go the extent of telling  you "you are not beautiful or handsome enough for this role/position". If you have not defined who you are to yourself that can kill your vibe (Fighting Spirit) instantly. That's only what "They" think about you, what you think about yourself matters the most, especially when it comes to keeping your Fighting Spirit to achieve your GOALS.
Thank you for reading, I hope this help you keep your fighting spirit. Please I would like to know your thoughts on this article, you can leave a comment below.. Stay Blessed Keep the Fire Burning!

What Up and Coming Artists need to know about Branding Themselves | 5 Basic Steps

Yes a lot of you may be wondering what is  JayBEATs trying to share with us today, well it's basic but important concept in marketing

BRANDING

. So for a while I have watched so many up and coming arts with good talents but many of them don't stand out in them minds of people that much, they all have a big problem on sharing their brand to their audience.
The question I want you to ask your self now as you read this are

  • WHAT DO PEOPLE THINK WHEN THEY HEAR OF YOU?
  • HOW DO THEY FEEL WHEN THEY HEAR OF YOU?
  • WHAT DO THEY THINK YOU STAND FOR?
All these questions all relate to one thing your BRAND. This is a really large area in marketing but I am going to make it as basic as I can. First of all What is BRANDING? Well according to BusinessDictionary.com Branding is "The process involved in creating a unique name and image for a product in the consumers' mind, mainly through advertising campaigns with a consistent theme. Branding aims to establish a significant and differentiated presence in the market that attracts and retains loyal customers." This simply means passing a message to your consumers(i.e Your Fans) of who you are, what you represent and what you do.
Now when you think of an artist like like Young thug, you feel the this new bad guy in the hip hop world giving us good music in an alternative style of trap beat the ghetto style(all this includes the way he raps, dresses, talks e.t.c they all work together to portray what he wants you to Think, Feel and what he wants you to know about what he stands for).

The following ways are strong ways you can brand yourself  to stand out

  1. See through the eyes of others: Yes, for you to be really effective in branding you must learn not to see things from your own point of view but from the view of the hearts of the people you are passing your message to.
  2. Answer the Big Question by Steve Jobs: these are basically                                                                *Who are you?
*What is it you stand for?
*Where do you fit in this World?

The fact is only you can answer these questions by yourself  I can't help you here and these are questions I would advise you answer with all sincerity, just be true to what you truly represent. Arts like Kim Kardashian West and Rihana though some may find their brand negative but it's what they truly represent, it's what their brand is all about and with that they have their place in almost every human's heart in the world.
  3. Give your self an Identity: This is basic though in most case some people get it all wrong in this stage. Your identity is simply your brand name, just imagine you are trying to portray a lover boy brand as a music artist and your brand name is 'The Monster', now how does that relate, you have just contradict your self from the very foundation of your branding process.
  4. Logo: Yes many of you may be wondering why a musician would need his or her own logo, yes its all part of branding, you may not necessarily need one as a signed artist( with are recording company with a Logo) but if you are an independent band or artist I would definitely recommend you create a logo that shows who you are and always try to make it simple, always remember that the best logos are not the most complicated once.
  5. Portray your Identity now: Now it's the time to start doing and showing people the things you really say you are, like Young Thug, show this in your genre, your dressing, attitude, personality. If your identity is a bad boy identity portray the bad boy you are and if your identity is a good boy portray a good boy all round and be consistent in doing this to stick what you stand for in the hearts on people in this noisy universe of great competition.
Conclusion: I want you to all know that there are a lot of great brands out there but the once that stand out are the once that are able to share what they truly believe in to the world. How Do the WORLD See YOU?

How To Promote Your Song For Free | The BIG Secret

HOW TO PROMOTE YOUR SONGS FOR FREE

. So you are a music artist, you have a lot of songs to your credit but I am sure by now you already know it's not about just recording the songs, you sure now know selling your self to your target audience is part of the craft if at all you want to be known and recognized doing what you love and that's why you are reading this post. Well I am going to be brief and straight to the point so you know what you need to know about PROMOTING YOUR SONG FOR FREE.
  1. Have A GOOD Song: Yes, you must first of all have a good song because people would only share what the find interesting to them with their family and friends and you wouldn't want a situation where your song is not go enough for a share.
  2. Create A Fan Base: You can achieve this through various means but the most easy and most common is via social networks like Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram and Google+. Building a good fan base on these social networks can be very helpful in promoting your songs for free for example Having a Facebook page with people following you on it, you could post a download link for them to share and download your songs, this is where having a good song comes to play
  3. Create Cover Of Popular Songs: This might sound/look funny but it's one of the best ways for and upcoming artist to attract attention from the public. In Nigeria I remember artist like Young 6IX(Nigerian Rapper) came to lime light through doing a song cover of the Hit Single of Ice Prince (Oleku ft Brymo). So don't under estimate the extent to which doing a good cover of a popular song can do for you.
  4. Upload your songs on file hosting sites: Yes, though this is basic but it makes sense a lot, sites like wikiupload will host your songs for free for you and they even give you links to share and help you monitor your downloads.
  5. Have A SoundCloud and ReverbNation Account:  These two websites(Soundcloud and Reverbnaion) are renowned song hosting and managing websites for artists and their fans to relate and promote their songs for Free. On like the above point this one is more advance, but when understood it gets simple to run. Like on reverbnation you get to feature on charts even as low as your city in different categories.
  6. Make Friends with DJs: Every DJ you see I advice you to try to know them more and be friends with them it's going to do you good, because it will do you good it a lot of the DJs in town are playing your songs and God doing you well having them on their mix tapes, that will stick your songs in the head of music lovers especially when you have a good song
  7. Bloggers should be your friends also: An easy way to have a relationship with bloggers you don't know real life is by following their blogs and commenting a lot on them, they definitely are going to take note of you that way, popular blogs in Nigeria are Naijaloaded, Mp3Naija, Naijapals, Tooexclusive so you can check them out
  8. Attend/participate in music shows in your location and beyond if you can: This is what it is, it helps promote your songs by performing for free on shows you know attracts great audience an example is Star Trek Music concert though you might pass through some audition stage, that shouldn't be a problem if you feel you are good.
So let me know what you think in the comment section below also this post is open to suggestions and critics so we all can improve and learn more. Thank you yours truly JayBEATs

Tips On How To Be A Good Freestyle Rapper | The Easy Way

Yes, finally, I have been wanting to write about this very topic for a while now. So you are reading this probably because you want to know how to FREESTYLE either as a rapper or a singer, well congratulation you are reading the right stuff.
So first of all what do you understand by the word Freestyle(The Music point of view)? Freestyle according to UrbanDictionary is defined as "To make up a rap as you go. Could be a battle, a poem, or just a rap". This simply means joining words together out of your head with out looking at a book of already composed lyrics that would sound pleasing to a listening audience.
Today you may probably have seen good freestyle artists which have probably influenced you to want to know more about this great art, if you are good in it you are most times worshiped like a king and if you are a guy you get the girls coming your way a lot but all that is by the way.
So how do you think these guys became so good in this art of free styling for example a Famous Nigerian rapper doing a 2hours straight freestyle on radio live with him sounding really dope and really entertaining. The fact is there are certain rules this dudes follow and that's what I about to make known to you because I want you to do well in your craft. So the rules are as follow according to me JayBeats

  1. Believe you can do it: The truth is if you don't believe you can do it you can't go further I'll advice you to go check out other posts like HOW TO BELIEVE IN MY DREAM when you done and you now believe in yourself you can then come back and continue reading this post.
  2. Listen To Rappers you admire: This will help you understand your genre better and also help you understand progression principle and how to attack BEATS(Instrumentals).
  3. Write Rhyme and Short lines: To me this is one rule you should always keep, you may just be in your bathroom doing raping and just get some cool lines out some of the nonsense you have been Spitting my advise to you is to write that line some where safe, you can buy a note book where you will write does cool lines that come to your head once in a while and try to make the note a secret thing between you and your self.
  4. Reading Your Line Book: Yes your LINE BOOK is what you should call the book you write all the lines that comes to your head once in a while and reading it will stick those lines to your unconscious mind and bring them to your conscious mind when you need them the most in a freestyle ground and then you feel like the king you are.
  5. Practice: Yes I am a Big fan of practice like the old saying goes "practice makes perfect", you can do this with friends of like mind just freestyle on instrumentals but if you are a shy person or you want to train your freestyle looks to  look dope I'll advise you to play instrumentals and freestyle in front of a mirror this would boost your confidence a lot.
  6. Gain Experience: This is another important rule you most keep, in fact you can't avoid it. Now is the time to start participating in various rap battles in your area, school, city, state or even nation wide as this would give you the experience and big exposure you've been waiting for and if you are lucky you could meet a very good Record Company that's ready to make a contract deal with you and with that my friend you are definitely on your way to stardom.
Thank you for reading this post, I remain my humble Self JayBeats. This post is open to suggestion and correction and also give me feed backs on the comment section. If you get to your stardom remember to come back and say thank you.
